Shen Baofan, born in 1935, male, of Han nationality, is a native of Shanghai. He is a professor, chief physician and chief expert of internal medicine in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After his graduation from the former Shanghai First Medical College as a major in Clinical Medicine in 1960, he joined the National 2nd Block Release TCM Program for Western Medicine Learners, working in Xinjiang upon completion of the Program. In 1970, he became a disciple of master TCM physicians Zhao Xiwu and Wei Longxiang. Now a national TCM inheritance postdoctoral co-supervisor and a member of National Expert Committee of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Public Emergencies, Shen has won the Special Contribution Award for Inheriting Traditional Medicine granted by the China Association of Chinese Medicine, the title of Outstanding Instructor granted by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine for 2 consecutive times, and the title of Outstanding Expert with Prominent Contributions by the CPC Xinjiang Committee for 3 consecutive times, entitled to Special Government Allowance of The State Council.
